May is Community Action Month for the more than 1,000 Community Action Agencies nationwide, and a chance to connect with the community even more than we do through our typical service model. This May we’ve designated one day for a number of activities, on Wednesday May 14th at our Community Resource Center Bridge we will be hosting a Spring into Summer Wellness Fair from 11am to 1pm with health and wealth resources, children’s face painting, a bike raffle, and free fresh produce and giveaways!
On the Main Campus CEO will also be hosting our annual Fill The Truck event from 11am to 2pm. The Food Pantry and Period Pantry are seeking donations of personal hygiene and household cleaning supplies to keep stocked throughout the year. We are looking for pads, tampons and menstrual cups for our period pantry, as well as items for our Food Pantry:
- Diaper cream
- toilet paper
- paper towels
- shampoo/conditioner
- laundry detergent
- toothpaste
- toothbrushes
- soap
- deodorant
Can’t make it to the Fill the Truck event? The truck will also be at the Hilton Garden Inn on May 22nd between 11am and 1pm during our Community Action Luncheon accepting donations. And lastly we will be holding a Dedication Ceremony for the Karen E. Gordon Administration Building at 1:15pm on May 14th at 2331 Fifth Avenue.
