Meal Resources for Children Throughout Rensselaer County

Averill Park Central School District

Averill Park Central School District will offer cold grab-and-go meals to all students in need, free of charge, beginning on Wednesday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in a drive-thru format. You are asked to stay in your car, meals will be brought to the window
Pickup sites are at Algonquin Middle School, 333 NY-351 and Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary School 8439 Miller Hill Rd.
•Mondays: Lunch for Monday, Breakfast and Lunch for Tuesday, Breakfast for Wednesday
•Wednesdays: Lunch for Wednesday, Breakfast and Lunch for Thursday, Breakfast for Friday
•Fridays: Lunch for Friday, Breakfast for Monday
If you will be picking up meals for a child with dietary restrictions, please contact Colleen Wise at so we may prepare a meal for you.
If you are unable to pick up meals at either location, please contact your child’s building principal.

Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area

BGCCA is offering 11 to-go breakfast and lunch sites across Albany and Troy for youth ages 18 and younger pick-up beginning Wednesday, March 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and continue weekly Monday through Saturday until further notice at the housing locations listed below.
Troy:
•Griswold Heights, 199 Project Rd.
•Corliss Park, 101 Corliss Park Rd.
•Arnold E. Fallon, 102 W Glen Ave.
•Martin Luther King, 1 Eddys Ln.
•Margaret W. Phalon, 1 Phelan Ct.
•Catherine Sweeney, 100 Catherine Sweeney Apts.
•John P. Taylor, 125 River St.

East Greenbush CSD

Students who are eligible for free and reduced price meals can receive free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch weekdays, starting Thursday, March 19 at the following sites and times.
•Donald P. Sutherland, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
•Red Mill Elementary, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
•Families will be given that day’s lunch and the next day’s breakfast at once. If your family is in need and unable to pick up meals, please contact the East Greenbush Bus Garage at 518-477-9288 for information regarding delivery.

Backpack Programs will continue to serve families. If you are interested in donating non-perishable items, please contact Athletic Director Michael Leonard at leonarmi@egcsd.org. Those items will be distributed to families in need.

Hoosic Valley Central Schools

The district will continue to provide meals to students who may need them. Pick-up or delivery logistics will be shared directly with participating families.

Hoosick Falls Central Schools

The district will provide meals to any student in the district, not just families eligible for free and reduced-price meals.
The district will distribute packaged meals to families on Wednesday, March 18 (three meals), Monday, March 23 (three meals) and Thursday, March 26 (two meals)

Lansingburgh Central Schools

The district will provide grab-and go lunches with breakfast for the next day included to all students, regardless of need, daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Turnpike Elementary, 55 New Turnpike Road and Lansingburgh High, 320 7thAve.

Rensselaer School District

The RCSD food service department will be providing meals to any student in the community, beginning Wednesday, March 18, utilizing school bus services to deliver breakfast and lunch weekdays between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., based on your child/children’s scheduled morning bus stop.
If you are interested in receiving meals for your child/children, please call Terri Hopper after 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17 at (518) 396-3491 and provide the following:
•Your child/children’s name
•Parent/guardian name
•The letter designated to your child/children’s bus for the morning route
•The nearest intersection
•Food allergies
•If you are unable to get through via the phone, you may email Louis Lanz this information at llanz@rcsd.k12.ny.us
•More detailed information about delivery times will be available on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 17.
•If your child/children will not be at their scheduled morning location during the time of delivery, please let us know what the address is of their location and what the closest intersection is.
•If your child/children is a walker, a special bus route will deliver at various locations along Washington Ave. in order to accommodate them. This information will be distributed as well.

Troy CSD

The district will provide grab-and-go breakfast and lunch for any student who needs it at Troy High School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily, starting Wednesday, March 18.
The district is also providing shuttles for any student wishing to come and pick up their meals. A parent or guardian may accompany their child on the bus. The shuttles will run every hour beginning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30.

Wynantskill Union Free Schools

The district is offering a week of meals for students who take part in the free and reduced price lunch program during the school closure, starting Tuesday, March 17. Please contact Food Services Director Lori Audi at 518-283-4600 ext. 22 or laudi@wynantskillufsd.org if you are eligible for the program and would like to receive meals.
