Please join us for a ribbon cutting to celebrate an exciting new collaboration!

  • Friday, October 26th at 11am
  • 350 Griswold Heights, Troy, NY 12180

For years, families living at the Troy Housing Authority’s Griswold Heights location and enrolled in CEO Head Start programming have experienced serious transportation difficulties. The need to take multiple buses to CEO locations or, brave challenging road conditions during inclement weather have severely impacted child attendance in school and consequently, the positive outcomes that come from Head Start. Within this exciting new collaboration, families utilizing the services of both Troy Housing and CEO Head Start can benefit from classrooms that are collocated within housing allowing for an easy commute to school, as well as easy access to broader CEO services.  It is the hope of both Troy Housing and CEO that these new classrooms will allow for children to benefit from higher attendance rates and family access to other services.

Additionally, one of the classrooms within the Griswold Heights collaboration is run in collaboration with the Troy City School District’s Universal Pre-K program.  Children enrolled in this classroom will receive the further benefits of instruction by a certified teacher as well as access to Common Core learning guidelines that are consistent to what they will encounter in Kindergarten.

Children enrolled in CEO Head Start at Griswold Heights will receive:

  • Six hours of educational programming (7:30-2:30)
  • Two fully outfitted preschool classrooms staffed with qualified teaching staff
  • Two meals
  • Access to health and developmental screening

We are truly excited about this new partnership!
